About the Service
The service is a fashion online platform for renting and purchasing designer dresses and accessories.
Duration of Rental Booking
Our rental terms are charged per day at a daily rate. You can choose to rent anywhere from 1 day up to 8 days. (If you would like to rent for a longer duration that will have to be scheduled by a Rent A Dress employee).
If you choose to rent for 1 day, please keep in mind we will be shipping you the dress on your event day between our delivery hours. Mon-Sun Morning delivery: (8am- 12pm) Afternoon delivery: (1pm-4pm).
If your event happens to run between our delivery times please leave us a time frame you wish to have your dress delivered at the checkout page on our website so we can arrange to have your delivery as a priority. If you do not provide us with specific shipping details, we will deliver within our regular delivery hours. Please keep in mind that the dress needs to be returned by 12 pm on the last day of your rental date. Any rental that goes beyond the 12 pm cutoff will be charged a $10 per day late fee on their credit card.
In order to rent an item from our website, you must create an account. Once you do so you will be required to provide us with some personal information about yourself, such as name, email, address, phone number, or other contact information. You agree that the information you provide to us is accurate and that you will always keep it accurate and up to date.
We will accept a cancellation of a requested booking until 24 hrs from the day you booked. (ex. If your order is placed Friday you have until the end of Saturday to cancel). You will be refunded in the form of your original payment minus Stripe transaction fees. Any cancellation after 24 hrs will not be accepted and your payment will become a store credit that can be used whenever you want and does not expire. Normally we do not offer a refund after the 24-hour mark, as this is for keeping the item reserved and limiting other customers from renting.
Sales tax is 5% on top of your order. In the event, we ship Canada wide your tax will vary depending on the province we are shipping to. All items shown on our website are in Canadian dollars.
Rent A Dress has the right to determine the price of all products listed on our website. This means rental or purchase. Rent A Dress works with a third-party payment processor to collect payment. We accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. Pre-paid credit cards and Debit Visa will not be accepted, and cash will not be accepted for security purposes. We will charge your credit card in the amount of the rental price, immediately upon your rental order. Additional fees will be charged to your credit card if an item has not been returned, lost, damaged, ripped, etc.
Billing and Payments
When you place an item for rent or purchase, you authorize Rent A Dress to charge your credit card for the rental fee or product you purchase. You must always ensure that your credit card is valid and up to date on your profile page. You are responsible for providing accurate billing and contact information to Rent A Dress. If your credit card gets cancelled or changed you must update it on your profile immediately.
You authorize us, through our third-party payment processor, to charge your credit card for the items selected for rent or purchase. If the payment processor is not able to charge your credit card you authorize us to use any payment method stored on file to complete the billing process. If we are unable to effectively charge your credit card, your items will not be shipped until you provide us with an updated and accurate billing.
We are not responsible for any errors made by the payment processor or if there are any outages or malfunctions with their devices. If we through the payment processor do not receive payment from you, you agree to pay all amounts due on your billing account, through another form of payment.
If you choose to rent an item from us and later opt to cancel your order, you are entitled to a full refund, excluding transaction fees, provided that you contact us within 24 hours of placing your order. Should you decide to cancel an order beyond this initial 24-hour window, the refunded amount will be retained in your account, accessible for future rentals or purchases at your convenience.
It is important to note that when you receive a refund, whether in full or in part, from Rent A Dress, the reimbursement will be processed for the amount of your purchase, less any applicable Stripe transaction fees.
Depending on Stripe fee schedule, refunds may incur fees, and Stripe’s processing fees from the original transaction won’t be returned. Additional fees may apply in some regions and payment types.

A large portion of the underlying cost of payment processing is driven by fees assessed by banks and payment networks (like Visa and Mastercard). These networks set rules about which fees apply for refunded payments, and in many cases banks and card networks keep the entire upfront cost of a refunded transaction. For some regions and payment types, refunded payments also incur additional fees.
Stripe aims to make pricing simple and transparent, and Stripe standard fees include access to a variety of features. To address these underlying payment processing costs and continue providing these services as part of our marchand processing standard pricing, Stripe, Rent A Dress marchand processing provider does not return your fees when a payment is refunded.
We offer a pickup and delivery service. If you choose to use our delivery service, the courier fee is an additional $20 on top of your rental fee ($20 two-way shipping). That is for local Calgary region. Non-local deliveries include (Okotoks, Airdrie, a separate cost will be charged.) If you live in a different City/Province additional courier fees will apply.
Our local courier delivery times are segregated between morning and afternoon deliveries.
Our courier Drop off times Mon-Sun Morning delivery: (8am- 12pm) Afternoon delivery: (1pm-4pm).
Our courier Pickup times are Mon–Sun (8am–12 pm).
Rent A Dress works with third-party couriers to deliver our products to you. Couriers are independent contractors and do not work for Rent A Dress. Rent A Dress shall have no liability for any interaction or dispute that goes on between you and a courier.
We recommend that you provide a secure location where you can physically receive your product. You or a family member (must be over 18 years of age) must physically sign off on the rental, letting us know you received the delivery. If we attempt to deliver the rental and no one is at home to physically sign for the delivery our couriers will not be able to deliver the package, as Rent A Dress will not be held liable for any products left unattended or left in the wrong hands. If you are not home and not reachable by phone the courier will ship the package back to our warehouse and, it will be your responsibility to get in contact with Rent A Dress to find an alternative form of getting the item sent to you. Additional courier fees may apply. You are aware that if you do not get in contact with Rent A Dress that same day during our business hours to receive your item you are aware that one day less will be deducted from your rental period and you will still have to pay the full duration of your rental period.
All our rentals come with a shipping label attached to the package or garment bag. If you provide us with an address that in invalid or where you cannot securely accept the products, the courier will not deliver the item and it will be shipped back to our warehouse, where you will have to get in contact with us to provide us with a valid address. We do not ship to a PO Box address. If you live in an apartment and have no concierge, please make sure to leave your apartment code for the courier to call or leave your cell phone number as a form of contact for the courier to get in contact with you. We can also ship to your workplace, as an alternative but you must physically sign for the delivery, so we know the package was left in the right hands.
If you are purchasing a product from Rent A Dress and have chosen our $20 courier service to deliver your product, our courier will deliver between our courier delivery times. If you are not home, our courier has the right to leave the product on your doorstep in a secure spot. If you live in an apartment our courier will NOT leave the package at your apartment door unless the customer allows it. If you are not home during our delivery times, it will be the customer’s reasonability to get in contact with Rent A Dress to secure a different delivery date and time. If you have a concierge, the customer must specify in the comment box at the checkout page that they allow to leave the package to be left with the concierge or a neighbour if you are not able to receive it.
Please keep in mind Rent A Dress ships to Calgary, Airdrie, and Okotoks. For shipping across Alberta and Canada please send us an email at email@example.com and we will process your order manually as courier fees and your rental duration will be different than a local delivery. Non-local deliveries will not be allowed to rent for a day, the min order will be 2-3 days as we need at least 24 hrs to process your order and ship it to you. We do not ship internationally.
The site is intended for individuals older than 18 years of age. By accessing or using the site, you are verifying that you are 18 years or older.
We keep an accurate inventory stock of all our rentals and product inventory, by scanning and photographing each item going in and out of our facility. If any of our rented items become unavailable while you are placing an order, we will notify you as soon as possible. You will have the option to choose another rented item for the same price or get a refund back.
Any product rented from Rent A Dress needs to be returned on the last day of your rental date. Please package your rented item neatly inside the package or garment bag and use the return label we provided for you, to return your rental. Place the return label in the front pouch of the garment bag or package and a courier will come to pick it up. Please do not leave your rental outside or left unattended for a courier to pick up, as you will be responsible to pay Rent A Dress if the rental gets lost or stolen, or damaged.
If you lose or do not return the garment bag your rental came in, you will be responsible to pay Rent A Dress a $50 fee for losing/not returning the garment bag.
Once the item is in your possession, please treat it with care. It is your responsibility to return each item back to us in the same condition it was given to you. (Each individual rental garment will be inspected and photographed prior to shipment for quality and assurance purposes and will be scanned and photographed once it gets sent back to our dry-cleaning facility for further inspection).
You are aware and agree that you are fully responsible for this rental, this means anyone you lend the dress to while under your rental care, any damages or stains, theft, fire are all under your care and you will be responsible to pay Rent A Dress back for the damages on top of the already paid rental fee.
If you either fail to return the item or return an item that is beyond damaged, then you agree that Rent A Dress will charge you at the current retail value of the rented item, on top of the already paid rental fee.
If you return a dress that is ripped, stained, etc. then you are aware that Rent A Dress has the right to charge your credit card listed on file for any damages and additional alteration charges. Photographs will be taken before and after an item leaves the store as well as when it gets brought back for quality and assurance purposes.
Once we charge you the full retail value of the dress, your dress will be considered as Final Sale and the dress will be automatically couriered to the address we have on file.
If we are unable to charge the credit card on file to collect payment for the lost or damaged item, you agree to provide another form of payment and pay back Rent A Dress for any damage to the item that was rented to you.
Insurance policy is an add-on service we offer to those who want to be protected while wearing our rentals, without having to worry about ruining the dress while in their possession. The fee will be $15 per rental. This fee will cover you for any minor damages ex. (Broken zippers, missing buttons, minor rips- (only on the seam of the dress any damages on the fabric itself is not covered under the $15), lost sequins- (this means a few sequins here and there if you lose a whole section of sequins, this is not covered under $15), minor washable stains). If you opt out of getting the insurance you will be responsible to pay back Rent A Dress for any (Broken zippers, missing buttons, minor rips, lost sequins, minor washable stains).
Any damages beyond the minor wear and tear is not covered in this $15 insurance fee and will result in additional alteration fees depending on the damage done to the garment. Rent A dress will automatically charge your credit card the damage fee. If the dress cannot be repaired or the damage is too severe you understand you have to pay back Rent A Dress at the retail value of the dress for any damage done to the item that was rented to you. This does not include any rental fees already paid.
All garments will be professionally cleaned and ready to wear when they are sent to you and will be sent to the dry cleaning facility after your rental. Please do not attempt to hand wash, machine wash, or dry-clean any of the rentals. We will take care of that for you. If an item is washed and ruined, you will be responsible to pay back Rent A Dress for the garment at full retail value.
We do not accept any alterations or changes to be made to any of our rentals. You will be responsible for any repair fees/ damage fees to the rented item if failing to comply with these terms. Any attempt to fix a rip or tear to our garment while in your possession will result in additional alteration fees, regardless of whether insurance was taken. When renting or purchasing a dress please make sure to follow our size chart to ensure a more accurate fit, or call us during business hours and speak to one of our customer service agents, or schedule an appointment for a fitting at our pop-up location
All our garments will be steamed before we ship you the dress. Please note we do not allow any ironing to be made to any of our rentals. If you iron and burn the dress you will be charged at full retail value of the garment. If a garment gets creased due to shipping, please flip the garment inside out and steam it far enough that it doesn’t harm the fabric.
If the garment you are renting has any sequins/beads on it, please do not iron or steam directly on the sequins/beads, as the sequins/beads may come apart or melt off if heat is directly applied to it, resulting in you having to pay Rent A Dress at full retail value of the dress.
We kindly ask you to not spray perfume directly onto the rented item as well as use self-tanners when wearing our rentals, as some ingredients found in certain self-tanners/ perfumes can permanently stain and discolour fabrics. If you choose to spray perfume, please spritz into the air and you can walk into the spritz. If there are any stains that will not wash out, you will have to pay back Rent A Dress at full retail value of the dress.
Rent A Dress has the right to alter the price, amount, or availability of any item without notice. You authorize us (by our third-party payment processor) to charge your credit card for the purchase price listed on the site. There are no warranties to any product/garment you purchase from us, and each product/garment that is sold to you is sold as is (Final Sale). Our products are non-refundable, non-returnable, and non-exchangeable.
Please keep in mind your dress needs to be returned by 12pm on the last day of your rental date. Any rental that goes beyond the 12pm cut-off will be charged a $10 per day late fee on their credit card. Any rentals not returned on the last day of your rental date will be charged a $10 per day late fee.
We will charge your credit card every day for 2 days after your rental was supposed to be returned. If the item is still not returned by the 3rd day your late return will become a non-return and Rent A Dress will charge your credit card for the full retail value of the garment plus the $50 garment bag fee. This does not include any late fees that were already charged to your credit card. Please note applicable taxes will apply.
You authorize Rent A Dress through our third-party payment processor to charge your credit card a non-refundable late fee for every day that we do not receive every product that was rented to you. You will be charged a $10 per day late fee for 2 days. If the item is still not returned by the 3rd day, we will charge your credit card (100%) retail value of the product (for each product, the retail value) plus applicable sales tax. If we cannot successfully charge your credit card you will be responsible to provide us with another payment method to successfully process the transaction.
Pickup and Drop Offs
We offer a pickup and delivery service. You can pick up and drop off your rentals from our current pop-up location located at (Astra Business Centre) #200 638 11 Ave SW in Calgary, AB. Pickups and drop-offs are available by appointment only and are to be scheduled between Rent A Dress’s business hours. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call us at 403.401.0074 to schedule your pickup and drop-offs.
If you choose to use our pickup and drop-off service, you are responsible to pick up your rental on your first rental day and return the rental on the last day of your rental day. All pickups and drop-offs must be done during Rent A Dress’s business hours. All Drop-offs need to be returned by 12pm on the last day of your rental date and are by appointment only. (ex. you are renting for Sat you will need to return your item by 12pm Sun by appointment). Please do not leave your rentals outside our pop-up store otherwise you will be responsible to pay back Rent A Dress at the full retail value of the garment if the item gets lost, stolen, damaged.
If you do not show up to pick up your rental on the scheduled day and time you are aware that one day less will be deducted from your rental period and you will still have to pay for the full duration of your rental period. We will not accept any refunds or store credit. Once an item is booked you have until 10 am the next day to cancel your order, if you miss the cutoff no cancellations or refunds will be accepted.
If you return your rental late you understand that a $10 per day late fee will be charged to your credit card. You will be charged a $10 per day late fee for 2 days. If the item is still not returned by the 2nd day, we will charge your credit card (100%) the retail value of the product (for each product, the retail value) plus applicable sales tax. If we cannot successfully charge your credit card you will be responsible to provide us with another payment method to successfully process the transaction.
Clutch Purse Rentals
Once the item is in your possession, please treat it with care. It is your responsibility to return each item back to us in the same condition it was given to you. (Each individual rental item will be inspected and photographed prior to shipment for quality and assurance purposes and will be scanned and photographed once it gets sent back to our dry-cleaning facility for further inspection).
You are aware and agree that you are fully responsible for this rental, this means anyone you lend the clutch to while under your rental care, any damages or stains, theft, fire are all under your care and you will be responsible to pay Rent A Dress back for the damages on top of the already paid rental fee.
If you either fail to return the item or return an item that is beyond damaged, then you agree that Rent A Dress will charge you at the current retail value of the rented item, on top of the already paid rental fee. There will be additional damage fee charged to anyone that returns a clutch that has missing sequins or beads. If you return a clutch that has a whole row of sequins or beads that have been ripped off/damaged/missing, you will be charged the retail value of the clutch.
If you return a clutch that is ripped, stained, etc. then you are aware that Rent A Dress has the right to charge your credit card listed on file for any damages and additional alteration charges. Photographs will be taken before and after an item leaves the store as well as when it gets brought back for quality and assurance purposes.
Once we charge you the full retail value of the clutch, your clutch will be considered as Final Sale and the clutch will be automatically couriered to the address we have on file.
If we are unable to charge the credit card on file to collect payment for the lost or damaged item, you agree to provide another form of payment and pay back Rent A Dress for any damage to the item that was rented to you.
Lost & Found
Any items left inside the fitting room or in the garment bag after your rental will be held at the Rent A Dress showroom and it will be the customers’ responsibility to get in touch with Rent A Dress staff member to collect their belongings. Rent A Dress will hold on to the items for 1 year, if the customer does not pick up their belongings by then we will permanently dispose of the item.
Rent A Dress may offer some promotions, contests, raffles, and discounts for new services that we may have. Any promotions, contests, raffles, and discounts do have expiration dates and must be used within the specified time. If you participate in any of the above, please review the applicable rules that follow.
Digital E-Gift Cards
Our E-gift cards can be purchased through our website and can only be used on our website. The card will be sent electronically, no physical card will be provided. Your E-Gift Card will be emailed to the recipient’s email that was provided to us by the purchaser within 24 hours. The person purchasing the E-Gift Card is responsible to provide an accurate and deliverable email address of the recipient. The E-Gift card does not expire and can be used at any time. Your E-Gift Card will not be replaced if lost or stolen. Our E-Gift Cards are non-refundable and may not be redeemed or exchanged for cash. You cannot use your E-Gift Card to purchase other E-Gift Cards.
When the E-Gift Card is redeemed, the value of your rental plus shipping fees and taxes will be deducted from your gift card. If there are not enough funds on the gift card to complete an order, you will be responsible to pay the difference via your own credit card.
Your E-Gift Card may be redeemed by entering your E-Gift Card number at checkout on our website.
Please be aware due to the resolution on certain mobile devices or computer screens some images may vary slightly in color from the actual color of the item.
